When couples choose to celebrate their love in a unique and intimate way, it allows for the most magical and heartfelt images. Recently, I had the privilege of photographing a private wedding session with a beautiful couple who wanted to reencounter their wedding day in a special way just the two of them, dressed in their wedding attire, reliving the love and joy of their wedding day.

They chose Treaty Oak in Jacksonville, FL, as the setting for this unforgettable session, and it could not have been more perfect. This ancient tree, estimated to be over 250 years old, is a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of downtown Jacksonville. Its massive branches stretch out gracefully, creating a breathtaking canopy that provides the perfect romantic backdrop for wedding photography. With the golden sun setting behind them, I was able to capture dreamy, backlit portraits that radiated warmth and love.

A Bride’s Personal Touch
One of the unique details of this session was the bride’s personal touch to her gown. She tidied the bottom of her dress herself, making it truly one-of-a-kind and a reflection of her style. Her hair was just as stunning flowing with shades of green, blue, and purple, beautifully complementing the enchanting setting of Treaty Oak.

Dancing Beneath the Tree
As the couple danced beneath the sprawling limbs of Treaty Oak, their laughter and joy filled the air, creating natural and candid moments that were an absolute dream to photograph. These types of moments are what make wedding sessions so special not just posed portraits, but real emotions and movement that tell a love story.

Sunset Stroll Along the St. John’s River
After capturing the magic of Treaty Oak, we made our way to the Riverwalk along the St. John’s River a spot known for its gorgeous waterfront views and the Jacksonville skyline sparkling in the background. The sky transformed into a stunning blend of colors, and I was able to get creative with off-camera flash photography, making the couple stand out against the glowing cityscape.

One of my favorite shots from the session was a silhouette of the couple against the vibrant sunset timeless, romantic, and truly breathtaking.

A Grand Finale at Friendship Fountain
To end the night, we stopped at Friendship Fountain, one of Jacksonville’s most iconic landmarks. The illuminated fountain created the perfect backdrop for more silhouette shots, making for a dramatic and artistic finish to this incredible wedding session.

Why Book a Private Wedding Session?
Not every couple has the chance to get all the wedding photos they envisioned on their actual wedding day, which is why booking a private wedding session is such a fantastic idea. Whether it’s an anniversary session, a post-wedding session, or simply a chance to wear your wedding attire again, this type of shoot allows you to capture your love story in a more relaxed and creative setting.
If you are dreaming of romantic, timeless wedding photos in a stunning location, let’s make it happen! Whether it’s under the sprawling branches of Treaty Oak, along the riverwalk, or in front of the glowing city skyline, I would love to create beautiful, meaningful images that you will cherish forever.
